Some Tips To Save Money
Can Make A Big Difference

Consolidate Loans

One of our tips to save money is to consider debt reduction programs. There are different programs available that amount to a single loan that pays off all of your smaller loans.

Ideally this new single loan will have an interest rate that is far lower than all of the individual loans. This is especially good for paying off high interest rate credit card balances that results in credit card debt reduction.

One caveat. Such loans are usually secured loans. You would be going from an unsecured loan (credit cards) to a secured loan which is usually secured by your home. Just be aware that this gives the creditor more leverage to collect.

Why waste your money on high interest charges while financial institutions get rich? If you have multiple student loans, you can consolidated them into one loan and save.

Seek professional advice to determine what is best for your circumstances. Be cautious about sharing your personal information. First verify whom you're dealing with and if they have the right product for you.

Sell your Stuff Online

Everybody has stuff sitting around the house, in the garage or attic that they don't use anymore. If you are looking to make some extra cash, then consider selling some or all of the stuff you don't use anymore online.

List it on eBay.com, Amazon.com or for larger things that you don't want to ship, try Craigslist.com for local buyers. De-clutter and make some money. Give it a shot. It is fairly simple and another on of the means for creative ways to save money.

Used Cars

A new car depreciates significantly the minute you drive off the dealerships lot. It can depreciate several thousand dollars in many cases. Yes, there is something very enticing about a new car. Everything is clean and shinny and it has that new car smell and full warranty.

But is it really worth all the money that is lost in immediate depreciation? The car is used after you drive it down the road and will be worth about half what you paid in three years depending on the make, model and price. One of our tips to save money is to consider buying a used car.

With a used car the sales tax and insurance costs are generally lower. If you decide that a used car may be the way to go, check into the average resale or "bluebook" value before you go looking for a specific make and model. Take the car for a lengthy drive and insist on reviewing the owner's maintenance records.

If at all possible have it inspected by a mechanic. Ideally, try to buy a car from someone you know and trust.

Vacation On A Budget

Try to avoid going on super exotic vacations that will run you a sizeable amount of money. Have you been to some of the attractions in the United States? Maybe there are some destinations in the US that are of interest. One of our tips to save money is to plan to take your trip in the off-season and book it in advance for reduced rates.

Head out and take advantage of what we have right here in the USA. This applies to any country that you live in. Sometimes the best things are right around us that we take for granted.

Refinance Your Mortgage

Are you paying a high interest rate on your mortgage? Get an idea of what rates and programs are available for the type of mortgage that you want. Start with your current lender. Do they have a mortgage that appeals to you?

One of our tips to save money is to make sure that you have considered all of the fees and points that the lenders are requesting. Also, see if you can negotiate the removal of private mortgage insurance (PMI). If you have a loan that is less than 80% of the value of your home, you don't have to pay PMI. This is one of the money saving techniques that will add monthly to your bottom line.

Cleaning Products

You can create your own homemade products in addition to the eco-friendly products that are available at the store. These homemade cleaners are made from fairly common ingredients that you probably already have in your home.

There are many recipes and several use for white vinegar as a main ingredient. Not only is this one of the tips to save money but you will be saving the environment at the same time.
